While we don’t consider ourselves coffee connoisseurs, we do enjoy ourselves a good cup of caffeine to keep us going. Luckily, we live in a city that supports boutique locally roasted coffee, bringing an exciting twist to the beverage. San Francisco is home to many renowned coffee roasters including (but not limited to); Blue Bottle Coffee, Ritual Coffee Roasters, Sight Glass and Four Barrel Coffee. Generally we brew one of these local roasters at home or occasionally hit up their nearest …

On an unusually sunny, beautiful 28th of January here in San Francisco; we joined the masses and flocked (walked) to the 21st annual Zinfandel Advocate & Producers ZinFest at the Concourse on Brannan in SOMA. Luckily, I'm an Eater(SF) reader and I frequently check-in with some of their other …

So what is Umami and what does it mean? You can go there website and click the “Huh?” tab and get a long in-depth definition but we just took our waiters word for it (he said the best translation is “savory” and every item on their menu is just that).
This growing …

Hawk's Tavern is a welcomed addition to Mill Valley, in our book. There has been a need for more casual fare than what's offered up at Bungalow 44, Buckeye Roadhouse and the newish (awesome!) El Paseo. It seems like Hawk's Tavern has really hit the nail on the head. With the advice and guidance of the Tavern-Master himself, Tyler Florence, Chef Michael Thiemann has taken the menu TF created and serves it up in a great way.
On New Years Eve day, while en-route to San Francisco from the North …
