Alpha Omega isn’t just another winery on the floor of Napa Valley. Beyond their beautiful rusted gates; you will find juicy, delicious wines that hit your palate just right and a fabulous staff serving them up. We were fortunate enough to taste with Steve Trosch during our first visit. Tasting with Steve is a true treat, because he possesses a trait that I truly long for– he’s able to speak and note exactly what I’m tasting and when I’m tasting it. It works like this, I take a sip and he starts talking about the profile of that particular bottle and it’s like connecting all the dots, magically.
I’ve mentioned before that I’ve gotten a bit cab’d-out over the years and Alpha Omega is doing a good job of really bringing me back. Offering so many different varietals, blends and bottling styles truly gives the Alpha Omega visitor an upper hand on a great day of tasting in the valley. Some of their wines that rate pretty high on my current favorites list:
2009 Cabernet Sauvignon
2010 Era (blend)
2009 Proprietary Red ** My FAVE!!
Do yourself a favor and stop in to see Steve (you may have to call ahead to request him, as I believe he’s pretty popular) for a tasting and take home a few bottles. We’ve since opened and enjoyed a few bottles of their Proprietary Red with meals at home and it’s just awesome!
