This past October, the weekend of Halloween, I had the pleasure of accompanying a great friend to New Orleans, LA on one of her work trips. NOLA is well-known for being both a party location (hello, Bourbon street!) as well as a southern dining destination. There are so many great restaurants, cafes, bars and tourist shops in the French Quarter– making it very difficult to decide just what to tackle. Luckily, I’m an Eater(SF) reader and I frequently check-in with some of their other national sites. I had seen Domenica come up on their radar a couple of times and then a recommendation from a friend sealed the deal; we we’re headed straight for the Italian brain child of Chef John Besh and Chef Alon Shaya. Chef Shaya oversees Domenica, while Chef Besh has now just opened his ninth restaurant!
We were welcomed with southern hospitality everywhere we stepped in NOLA, but we were especially well taken care of at Domenica. With a service and host staff to rival the best we have here in the bay area, they really don’t fall short in making you feel at home.
[*special shout-out to general manager John Melnyk and our server Ryan Sullivan-- both were extremely instrumental in our special experience and enjoyment while at Domenica*]
We enjoyed the food, contemporary and chic design of the restaurant itself and all the attention we received from each member of the staff. I highly suggest making this one of your stops while in NOLA, you won’t regret it!
