Newly opened French Blue on Main Street in St. Helena just upped the ante for the Wine Country dining scene. The moment you sink into one of the lounge-like chairs inside the restaurant you’ll be ready to order a variety of the daily specials or any other item off their uber-fresh menu. If you choose to dine al fresco, the patio and outdoor fireplace create a cozy setting for a great experience. Until I step foot in restaurants that pay this much attention to aesthetic and appeal, I forget just how much I appreciate when they do– French Blue has nailed it.
If you’ve had the chance to dine at Press restaurant, just a ways South on Hwy 29; then you will recognize many of the same charming and luring characteristics (think amazing lighting, people!!) at French Blue. It’s the Bracken/Rudd combo at it again and seemingly, if only judging by the attendance around us for brunch; they’ve created another great addition to Napa Valley. On their menu you’ll find hyper-local ingredients and nothing that fall short on your palate.
In we walked for brunch this past Saturday, seated right away and proceeded to look around at the oodles of fresh, delicious smelling crocks (staub ones– super cute!) coming out of the kitchen– needless to say we settled on our choices with ease.
