Umami Burger moves in on Union in SF!
We love us a good burger, here at BayZest, so when we heard that San Francisco was getting a great Los Angeles-based burger sensation we knew checking out their new digs had to happen. So what is Umami and what does it mean? You can go there website and click the “Huh?” tab and get a long in-depth definition but we just took our waiters word for it (he said the best translation is “savory” and every item on their menu is just that).
This growing chain of burger restaurants (currently 5 Los Angeles based locations, and 1 San Francisco Location), created by Adam Fleischman, is sister to San Francisco’s well-loved, Umami. Umami Burger is growing super fast and Adam has seen a lot of media coverage and interest for a possible nationwide expansion of Umami Burger as well as two new restaurant ideas; Uko (a more causal “fast food style” Umami) and UMAMIcatessen (a bazaar style spin on the classic American Delicatessen).
