It doesn’t get much better than sitting 20 feet from the beautiful Maui waves while dining on some of the islands best fare. Mama’s Fish House offers just that and more. A mere 2 miles outside of Paia Town, Mama’s Fish House is both a restaurant and inn, attracting locals and tourists alike; all seeking great meals and atmosphere. Mama’s was founded in 1973; a beach-home-turned-restaurant with an interior reminiscent of old Polynesian-style, Mama’s is nestled in a coconut grove adorned with a white sandy beach; truly the perfect dining-scape.
We enjoyed lunch at Mama’s while we were on Maui, sitting front-row to the ocean view. Upon opening their menu, the first thing I noticed was that each fish-dish description listed not only the boat on which the fish was caught but the skipper’s name as well– talk about learning where your food comes from, this is the ultimate! Knowing that we needed something fab to drink with our meal to come, I popped open their wine list to find none other than 2008 Brown Estate Napa Zin (which has been sold out here on the mainland for months) by the bottle!
Here are a few photos of our amazing view from our table and delicious entrees:
