Welcome to BayZest’s Maui Week! As some of you know we were recently on the beautiful island of Maui for a friends wedding and for the next week, we will be posting about our trip and all the awesome things we did while on vacation.

So, you’re traveling to Maui– you step off the plane, feel the warm-humid air surround you, smell the plumeria, get angry at the guy stepping into your personal space while waiting for your luggage at the baggage claim carousel, then hop on an overcrowded rental car shuttle and eventually you’re off to your hotel. Now if this mixture of relaxing chaos doesn’t make you crave a cocktail, there may be something wrong with you.

The following might not be the island’s best cocktails, but they sure tasted good to us. Whether you’re poolside, waiting for dinner or having lunch; you may want to give one of these Maui alcoholic beverages a try:

Mai Tai Roe Ae from Mama's Fish House (light and dark rums, fruit liqueurs, almond-orange-rose-orgeat flavoring and tropical fruit)

Honey Basil Fresh from the Fairmont Kea Lani (a palate-stimulating shake of plymouth gin, hand-pressed basil, clover honey syrup and freshly squeezed lemon juice)

Lava Flow from the Fairmont Kea Lani (resort light rum blended with pineapple juice, banana, coconut and strawberry puree)

Moloka'i Mule from the Fairmont Kea Lani (1940's cocktail that introduced vodka to the american palate – grey goose vodka smothered in pureed ginger and swizzled with freshly squeezed lime juice and club soda)

Rum Runner from the Fairmont Kea Lani (*only avail. upon request* – chambord liqueur, light and dark rum, pineapple and coconut juices with a myers rum float)

Pineapple Fresh Berry Cobbler from the Four Seasons Wailea (TRU lemon organic vodka, upcountry berry compote and pineapple juice)

Traditional Mojito from the Four Seasons (created in cuba, perfected in Maui; lime juice and mint muddled with Maui pure can syrup and Bacardi limon)

Have you been to Maui, HI recently? Where do you like to get drinks? What do you normally get? Let us know in the comments section!

Ooooh, these cocktails look amazing! We're in the beginning stages of planning our Hawaiian vacation and doing a lot of research.
